UL's history

In the 1890s, a major fire broke out in the United States. The chief culprit was the use of electricity. The cause of the accident was the use of more and more untested electrical connections and electrical products. In order to prevent the tragedy from continuing, William H. Merrill officially established UL (Underwriters Laboratories) in 1894, and published its first test report on March 24, 1894, and began its life of defending safety. . UL is a US product safety testing and certification organization and the founder of US product safety standards. Over the course of more than a century, UL has conducted relevant safety standards tests on hundreds of products and components.
